Giant TCR Advanced Carbon 2011

Giant TCR Advanced Carbon 2011

We just got in a really sweet Giant Carbon Road bike. 2011 Model with all Dura Ace 7900 stuff. If you have not road the new Dura Ace Gruppo. There are several improvements of the 7800 series (even more if you are thinking Di2). The most noticeable thing is the shorter throw when moving the levers. The dual control levers seem to have a better shape too. Very comfortable. And like everything Dura Ace, precise.

I have to say, I am a fan of metal framed bikes, I know… I am a dinosaur but steel and titanium have such a comfortable ride, they last for ever and it just seems like you generally have less worries, they are harder to break. You don’t have to worry about over torquing your seat post by a kg/cm and having to purchase a new seat post, or worse, a new frame.

But I was really really impressed by the ride quality of this Giant. the carbon does a great job of dampening the road vibrations and the frame was really stiff where it needed to be, the bottom bracket and the head tub are way oversize and it is very clear that the power delivery is excellent. And the bike handles great since the frame does not flex and make the bike loose stability cornering.

This bike is a size Large if you think it’s a fit and you would like to come by and ride it yourself, give is a call, we will be happy to set it up and let you take it for a ride.

It just happened to be my size so I rode it at the Thursday night ride here on the square in Granbury and then again in the Pecan Plantation ride. Never thought I would say it but I might be able to give up my Merlin Titanium frame for one of these…
